This is why I love Google, excuse me, Topeka - and why the company is not Microsoft. The former has always demonstrated a sense of humor; the latter, never.

Who Am I and Why Am I Doing This?
Who am I?
Just one of, at this moment, over 70 million people who have created a blog.
Why am I doing this?
Well, like most people I have a lot of opinions. They swim around my head all day long and keep me up at night. Now, I could, and do, bore family, friends and associates with them, but that is cruel. So, I guess I'm hoping that by "publishing" them, I will be able to banish them from my mind and be able to fall asleep. And, as an employee many, many years ago told me: "it's a learning experience."

The opinions expressed here are my own and not that of the management. However, I read a lot, listen to the radio, and watch TV so I can't claim that any of these opinions are original.

I feel disturbed by this. Yes the kinship google shared with the city is nice... blah blah blah. But I was very attached to the google name. I'm going to miss it. I feel empty.

I love how at the end of their very extensive summary, they tell us how to now use their new name:

I Topeka'ed this and it came up an April fools joke!?! I trust Topeka and I don't know what to believe! Is it a joke or real??? I'm going to topeka on Yahoo from now on!!!

So the April Fools Joke with Topeka has taken us all by surprise, however it did do one thing in my opinion, It has now made MANY americans and many people around the world aware of the presense of a Topeka, Kansas, as I didn't even know a place named Topeka existed. It has sparked an Idea, which I would require to cal...l upon ALL TOPEKANS, as us at Temple of groove would love to configure a Social Network application geared Specifically towards Topekans, We will name this Topekas as a combination of Topeka and Kansas. Google was a good company, but those Topeka guys I wouldn't trust as far as I can through them. You know they are up to no good.
